There are a number of different options to enable you to set up how the Dashboard will look.
All these options are available through setting Predefined Config (a.k.a. 'state') for the Dashboard. See Dashboard Config for full details.
Through Dashboard Predefined Config you are able to configure the following:
Available Toolbars - which Function Toolbars the user is allowed access to
Visible Toolbars - which Function Toolbars are visible when the Blotter first displays
Visible Function Buttons - which button links to Functions appear in the Home Toolbar at start-up
Use Entitlements Config to manage permissions so users cannot access those Functions which are not required for the current application.
Dashboard Size - this can be done in 2 ways: via the Zoom property or the UseExtraSmallButtons options. The former is preferred.
Visibility - whether the Dashboard to be Visible (default), Minimised or Hidden.
Coloured Buttons - whether a single colour is used for all Dashboard buttons or if each type (e.g. Add) has its own colour
Home Toolbar Buttons - properties to manage visibility of each of the Home Toolbar special buttons (e.g. About, System Status)
Home Toolbar Dropdowns - properties to manage visibility of each of the Home Toolbar Dropdowns (i.e. Functions, Columns and Toolbars).
Titles - the title that should appear in the Home Toolbar and the Application Toolbar.
Use Entitlements to manage what the User can and cannot do in the Dashboard.
For example, you can set up the Dashboard how you require at design time and then set the Entitlement to ReadOnly which will prevent the user from making subsequent changes when the application is live.
(See Entitlements Config for more information).
