The Adaptable Blotter is a commercial product. All end users of an application or system which includes the Adaptable Blotter in a production environment must have a valid Adaptable Blotter licence.
The Adaptable Blotter offers 5 Licence Types:
End-User: This is the most straightforward option - each end-user of the Adaptable Blotter pays a single end-user price.
Team: Where there are large groups of end-users (typically more than 30) we offer a Team Licence which covers all members of the team.
Universal: This offers access to the Adaptable Blotter for unlimited users and unlimited usage for a client. These are particularly useful in scenarios where our customers cannot manage or know end-user numbers (e.g. if they are a software vendor, or provide a website).
Development: This licence is intended for situations with an extended development period, as a prelude to some form of end-user licence. It is suitable for use-cases with a more drawn-out testing or marketing schedule, to allow the Adaptable Blotter to be integrated at an appropriate point, limiting the costs incurred. Development-only licences are agreed on a case-by-case basis depending on individual requirements for a fixed time period, and include additional development support. The framework for licensing after this will be agreed when the development-only licence is granted.
Trial: This is a free, temporary licence offered to allow developers to evaluate the Adaptable Blotter for a limited time period. Once the trial period expires, one of the above licence types must be purchased for continued use.
Each licence guarantees:
One year of access to the Adaptable Blotter - for all supported DataGrids and both the .JS and .NET versions
4 quarterly updates (minimum)
Copy of the source code
If, at the end of the year, you choose not to renew, AdaptableBlotter.JS will continue to work but you will not be eligible for further updates or to access Support.
The Adaptable Blotter licence does not include a licence for the underlying vendor grid. So if you partner the Adaptable Blotter with a commercial vendor grid, you must ensure to pay for that licence separately.
It is free to evaluate the Adaptable Blotter using a Trial Licence, which will be provided on request. Once received, simply install from our private npm repository (see Installation for details) and start coding.
To get up and running quickly, use our Getting Started Tutorial.
However if you want to do a longer-term POC you will require a commercial licence. This, too, will be provided on request, and the cost is then subtracted from any subsequent Licence purchase.
