AdaptableBlotter.JS provides end users with a huge amount of advanced functionality out of the box. However there will always be occasions when developers will need to add their own additional grid-related functionality to the application. And this is easily achieved.
Everything that can be created by users in the Adaptable Blotter at run-time using the wizards can also be created by developers at design time. All Adaptable Blotter Objects are pure JSON and it is relatively straightforward to write them by hand.
All Adaptable Blotter Objects implement the IAdaptableBlotterObject interface which has a single Uuid property that allows for easy identification of objects. You should NOT assign this property when supplying Predefined Config as the Adaptable Blotter will insert it on first read.
See Config Basics for more information.
This allows you easily to ship the product to users with many Adaptable Blotter Objects (e.g. Searches, Editing Rules, Layouts etc.) already created. Users will then have immediate access to all these objects, while being able to use the Blotter to create more as required (provided that their Permissions allows it).
See the Adaptable Blotter Objects for a step by step guide to the various Adaptable Blotter Objects you can build.
Users are subject to Entitlements rules set by administrators so they can only create Adaptable Blotter Objects in Functions to which they have write access. See Permissions for more details.
