AdaptableBlotter.JS allows you to use the + and - keys on the keyboard to increment or decrement the value of a numerical cell which you have identified as having a nudge value.
Using the Plus/Minus Function, you can:
Set a Default Nudge Value for each numerical column.
Create Custom Plus / Minus Rules so that Nudge Value amount for a cell will be different, depending on the values in other cells in the row.
A custom Nudge value has precedence over a default Nudge Value for a column, so any bespoke Nudge Values will get used first.
To set the default Nudge Value for a Column, click 'New' in the Plus/Minus screen to open the Plus/Minus wizard. Select the Column from the dropdown, enter the Nudge Value you require and check the 'Default Nudge Value for Column' checkbox.
The Default Nudge Value for the column will be used if the column has no Custom Plus / Minus Rules that apply for the row in question.
You can only have one Default Nudge Value for a column. If you attempt to add a second, you will be given a warning together with the option to override the existing Default Nudge Value.
You do not have to set a Default Nudge Value for a column. You can choose only to have Custom Plus / Minus Rules.
You might want to change the Nudge Value for a column depending on the values in other columns in the row. For example, you may want the nudge value for the Bid Offer Spread column to be 4 when the Currency is EUR or GBP, but 3 when the Currency is USD. To set up these relationships, you need to create a Custom Plus/Minus Rule.
When you create a Nudge Value with custom rules, you set a custom Nudge Value and then define the rules by building a query. AdaptableBlotter.JS only uses the custom Nudge Value if a row's values match all of the conditions set in your query.
If a row's values do not match all the query conditions, the custom Nudge Value is not used, and the default nudge value for the column is used instead (if one has been set).
To create a Custom Plus/Minus Rule, click 'New' in the Plus/Minus popup to open the Plus/Minus wizard. Select the Column from the dropdown, enter the Nudge Value you require and check the 'Custom Plus/Minus Rule' checkbox. Click 'Next' to create a Query for the Plus Minus Rule. For more information on building and editing Queries using multiple Conditions and Criteria see Queries.
You can edit, delete and share Plus / Minus rules as you can with all Adaptable Blotter Objects.
