You can use the Adaptable Blotter to export data from your grid into other formats. Unlike other blotters, AdaptableBlotter.JS allows you export data dynamically - through the use of reports (essentially named queries). This means that that you don't need to first filter the grid before you export. So if you have for example, an End of Day report, you need to define it only once and it will evaluate automatically each time you run it.
You can schedule your exports at at time of your choosing or export manually whenever you want.
You can access Export from either the Export Popup or from the Export Function Toolbar.
You can export data from the blotter to a number of locations including:
CSV - a comma separated file that can be imported into Excel or elsewhere
Clipboard - copying to the clipboard allows the data to be subsequently pasted where required. When copying to the clipboard the names of the columns is included with the exported data.
Excel - automatically opens Excel (assuming its on your machine) and displays the data.
This option is only available if you are running AdaptableBlotter.JS inside the OpenFin container. Additionally the data in Excel will update automatically as the source data in your grid changes.
ipushpull - makes the data available to ipushpull so you can see it on a number of different places including Excel, Symphony and others.
This option is only available if you have ipushpull configured and you will need a valid ipushpull account.
In the Export Function Toolbar, you need to first select a report and then choose an export destination.
In the Export Popup select an Export Destination from the dropdown in the row for the report you want to export.
When you export you send a report to a chosen destination. A report is essentially a named query with an associated group of columns (see Queries for more details). You can create as many reports as you want.
The data does not need to be visible for it to be exported with the report. For example your report might include a column that is hidden, or you might be currently filtering out some rows that form part of the report. When you export the report, these 'hidden' values will all be included.
The Adaptable Blotter ships with some predefined report for frequent queries that you might use. These include:
All Data - exports all the data in the datasource, irrespective of what is currently visible in the grid.
Visible Data - exports all the data currently visible in the grid, ie only those rows and columns that are visible
Selected Cells - exports all currently selected cells
You can create, edit, delete and share reports from both the Export Toolbar or the Export popup.
