Layouts allow you easily to switch between different 'views' of your grid, which are named and saved for easy access. Each layout contains:
Column order and visibility
Current Column Sort Order(s)
Vendor Layout Information (e.g. column groups, column widths)
Vendor Layout Information is not available for all underlying grids
To activate this feature, set the includeVendorStateInLayouts property to true in IAdaptableBlotterOptions (see Layout Options for more details).
You should use the Column Chooser to quickly set which columns are shown on your grid. This will create a customised view that you can then save as a Layout.
When you have created a customised grid view and saved it as a Layout, you can access that Layout at any time from the Layouts Function Toolbar or from the Layouts Popup.
To apply an existing Layout to your grid select the Layout you require from the dropdown in the Layout Function Toolbar or select it in the Layout popup.
To create a new Layout click the 'New' button in either the Layout Function Toolbar, or the Layout Popup . This will start the Layout wizard, which will give you a choice between creating the Layout from scratch or duplicating what is currently in the grid. If you choose to create the Layout you will be able to select column visibility, order and sorting The final stage is to give the Layout a name.
The newly created Layout is now available as an option in the Layout dropdown in the Layout Function Toolbar and as a row in the Layout popup.
To save changes which have been made to an existing layout click the 'Save' button in the Layout Function Control . This will overwrite the existing view that is stored for the Layout with what is currently in the Blotter.
You can see if your layout has changed but not yet been saved, because it will have the word 'Modified' in brackets next to the Layout name. If that is the case then the undo button is enabled so you can revert the changes.
There is an option to have layouts save automatically when changes are made in the grid - ensure that the property autoSaveLayouts is set to true in IAdaptableBlotterOptions (see Layout Options for more details).
To delete a layout click the 'Delete' button in the Layout Function Toolbar or the Layout Popup.
To share a layout with colleagues, click the 'Share' button in the relevant row.
